Jumping in

I just took my first oral dosage of chemotherapy. I had to take 3 pills. I will take 2 more this evening. It took all morning for me to get the courage to swallow them. I feel fine, which makes it scary to think about putting medicine in my body that will make me feel tired and sometimes yucky. But, as one Dr. said,"Everytime you feel yucky while doing chemo, think how yucky the cancer cells feel that you are killing." My IV form of chemo starts next week. I meet with the radiation Dr. tomorrow to find out when those treatments will start. I am ready to tackle this.

It is good to hear that this is 'cureable' and that you have a silver lining. You are in our prayers and thoughts, as is your sweet family. You are so strong and we know you can beat this! Know that you are loved.

Glad you have such a postive attitude about jumping in. Me, Negative Nelly, would be having a diffficult time. Hope the meds treat you okay and you don't feel too yucky.

Sounds like the commercial. You need to use magetic kid letters to spell "I'm ready" on the refridgerator. You go Girl!

I know that you don't really know me, but I'm Amy's sister Katy. I've been asking my mom and sister daily for updates on how things are going and my mom sent me the link to your blog. I am so impressed with your faith and your courage. You are in our prayers over here in New Orleans too!
Much love,
Katy (Boye) McCready

Kristin--If you ever get sick of swallowing big pills--or whatever, I met a new pharmacist in Boerne yesterday who has an apothecary. She can make anything go down easier! She's a nice girl too--Leigh Ann at Annie's Apothecary. Let me know and I'll get the number off her card if you want it.

You're an inspiration to me. Alice

Girl- when I read the part where you said, I am ready to tackle this, I got all pumped up and all I could think about was the Rocky theme song, Eye of the Tiger:)

So if you have worries about taking pills, going for treatment, or changing a dirty diaper, just play this 4 min clip I found on the internet and you will be ready to push down a mountain:)

We're thinking and praying for you constantly. I've been on a high for you since the "cureable" not just "treatable" post. Yippee!! I'm happy to have the kids over any time... Love you- Em
